Want to experience
Egypt, but worried about the trouble in the region? Try a visit to
The Egyptian Museum at Rosicrucian Park in San Jose, California. This
museum opened in November 1966 and houses the largest display of
Egyptian artifacts in the Western United States and is the only Museum
on the planet designed in the Egyptian style. The Museum is
situated in an Egyptian revival garden park which you can access for
free. The garden lives up to name of "Peace Garden" and is quite
tranquil to visit.
No video, tripod or flash photography is permitted inside the museum.
However, they will allow you to use your camera with the flash turned
off. The museum houses historical artifacts and replicas, some of which
are breathtaking to behold. There is a life-size tomb replica you can
tour and the museum often has free seminars. Highly recommended.
