WHAT DOES PACT STAND FOR?

PACT originally was an acronym which stood for (P)aranormal (A)nd (C)onspiracy (T)eam. When first established, PACT not only had the intent of investigating the paranormal, but conspiracies and all things unexplainable too. After developing a better sense of research and prioritizing certain subjects over others, PACT now focuses solely on paranormal and unexplainable phenomenon studies; UFOs, crypto zoology, etc.. deviating away from the subject of conspiracies. So in other words.. we decided that conspiracies aren't for us, we just don't dig the subject. To sum things up, the word PACT represents the team's strong passion for working together to conduct research. PACT is now registered as Chicago Paranormal Investigations, all to represent our home location and love for Chi-town!

DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICES?

The answer is an outright NO. PACT will never charge for services of any kind, under any condition. Our goal is strictly to conduct research and to help our clients find answers, just as we are seeking for answers of our own. We are here to help others while contributing to the field of research. We are NOT investigating to make an extra buck or to burn a hole in someone's pocket. PACT is a non-profit organization that is 100% self funded. Donations are graciously accepted and appreciated, but never requested or asked for. All equipment, traveling and miscellaneous expenses are self-funded by the staff.

DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO?

Of course! We have conducted investigations not only outside of the Chicago area, but outside of the state! With flexible scheduling, the team will travel anywhere in the Midwest and beyond to help out anyone who is in need. No hassles, no dilemmas. Guaranteed!

DO YOU ALLOW THE HOME OWNER/CLIENT TO BE PRESENT DURING THE INVESTIGATION?

DUH! Absolutely! In fact, we encourage the property owners to be there, and to even participate in the investigation. We think it's an excellent hands-on learning experience. It's also important to have a certain individual present when trying to document activity that may be focalized around the person. This is a great way to gain a better understanding of how to use or equipment. Homeowners can help to provide more insight for our investigators so that we can work more thoroughly and focus on more important, familiar areas of the location. We WANT to share the experience with the client, and we WANT to share the hands-on learning.

DO YOU USE PSYCHICS OR MEDIUMS?

No! No PACT staff members are psychics or mediums, nor do we rely on the aid of them. PACT's investigations are driven by hard science and logical reasoning, so that we can credibly seek concrete answers. We are always open minded and accepting of new methods of investigating. Some accepted methods include a more spiritualistic approach, or those used by mediums, but we do not exercise these methods ourselves.

ARE YOU GHOSTBUSTERS?

This is the most commonly asked question that we get- whether it occurs in casual conversation, at our workplaces or through other methods of contact by clients. We are not 'ghost busters', but rather 'ghost hunters'. Our goal is to help validate or disprove claims of paranormal activity, and to help clients find answers/solutions to their case. In some situations, if we can validate the presence of unwanted paranormal activity, we will help the client to find a way to cope with the situation, whether that involves living coincide with the activity or removing it. While PACT will not remove an active presence from a location, we will help to educate, teach and empower the client to do so himself. Sorry guys, no proton packs here!

DO YOU EVER INVESTIGATE CEMETERIES?

Ohhhhh boy. If we had a nickel for every time we get asked this question.. well darn, we would.. have a lot of nickels. Anyway, the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. PACT will not investigate cemeteries. As well, PACT will not trespass on to private or abandoned properties claimed to be haunted. It is mainly a matter of safety, legalities and respect. We don't want to encourage local vandalists to trespass community cemeteries and local abandonments solely based on the fact of urban claims or legends about hauntings. Yeah guys, ghost stories are cool and some places are hella creepy.. but come on, show some respect. We've got a ton of respect for our team, our research and our community. Trespassing is illegal and rude. Just don't do it. If you're younger and wanna check out haunted hot spots legally, then just shoot us an e-mail and we'll help you out.

IS THIS ONLY FOR FUN?

Nope! Our main purpose for engaging in paranormal investigations is for exactly that - investigating. We are researching claims of activity, disproving or validating claims, documenting our work and trying to connect the dots. We want to answer not only our own personal questions, but others questions regarding the bigger picture of life after death. We investigate and do what we do for the scientific research, in hopes of contributing to the evolution of the paranormal field. We want to uncovered the truth about hauntings, identify the misinterpreted logic, expose the B.S., and maybe find something entertaining a long the way. We would be lying if we said that PACT doesn't have fun investigating, the teams a bunch of thrill seekers. Despite this, we take our work pretty seriously, and work on a professional level. Each member of the team is extremely passionate about what they do, and has contributed large amounts of time and effort in to the field. But hey.. just because we're professional doesn't mean that we still can't jump, right?
